FLORENCE AUSTRAL CONFINED TO BED

LONDON, May 24.
Madame Florence Austral was to have sung tho part of Brunnkildo in Wagner's Opera Gotterdammerung ir. tho German Covent Garden for the first time last night. She travelled 3000 miles, giving up dozens of engagements in America but her old mastoid trouble recurred and she is confined to her bed. Madame Austral makes her debut in France in Aida at the Paris Opera House in June, then she goes to Germany to perfect her knowledge of the language and to study German opera at first hand.
