Mr. T. K. Hay, Borough engineer, who has been holidaying at Gisborne, returned to Peilding yesterday. The Jiev. C. D. Gardiner, formerly of the Peilding Baptist Church, has received and accepted a unanimous call to the pastorate of the Gore Baptist Church, where lie lias been preaching for two months. The annual election of chairman to the County councils In this district takes place to-day.
