VALUELESS CHEQUES ISSUED FOR TWO YEARS
SWINDLER’S LONG REIGN. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Edward Arthur Peters, aged 35, was sentenced to six months’ hard labour pius two years’ reformative treatment on fourteen charges of obtaining goods and money totalling £lO4 by means of valueless cheques and false jpretenccs and several charges of theft. . For over two years Peters toured the North Island obtaining money and goods fro-m various people by telling unusual stories and working upon their sympathy.
