P.N. ARTILLERY UNITS INSPECTION ON MAY 24

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES AND BADGES.

On Friday, May 24, Brigadier Whyte, O.C. Central Command, will inspect a combined parade of the 7th, and Bth. batteries, R.N,Z,A. at the Showgrounds. The occasion will be taken to' present trophies won in the battery competitions and badges to drivers, layers and signalmen, who have been recommended by their officers. The following trophies and badges will be presented: Eighth battery —Buchanan Cup; (section competition), left section (Lieutenant M. Osborne); Sub-section shield, “C” sub-section (Sergeant White); Beale Cup (area 6 b. rifle championship) Gunner Griggs; layers ’ badges, Lanco-Sergcant Cope, Bombardier Cole, Bombardier Stratton; drivers' badges, lance-sergeant Skilton, Bombardier Woodham; signallers’ badges, lance-Sergeant Brownlie, lanceBombardier Smillie, Bombardier Haddon, lance-Bombardier Cameron. Seventh battery—Section Cup, right section (Lieutenant W. Philip); teams match trophy (area 6 b. rifle meeting), battery team under Lieutenant Lovelock; sub-section shield, “C” stfb-aec-tion (Sergeant T. Gabriel); sports cup, “C” sub-section, (Sergeant T. Gabriel); layers’ badges, Sergeant E. Page, Sergeant Johansen, B'ombadier J. Hanks, Gunner Morris; drivers’ badges, Driver Evans, Bombardier Altree, Gunner I Daly; signallers’ badges, Gunner Ccd- ! erman, Gunner Milks, lance-Bombardier McLaggan, Gunner Harvey.
