CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night,
Tho count of votes under proportion al representation for the election of tho City Council is still uncompleted but it should finish to-morrow'.*
At present, eight councillors have been elected, five being nominees of the Citizens’ association and three Labour but the distribution of surpluses and of the votes of eliminated candidates will probably make the council consist of eight Citizens’ association members' and seven Labour, with Dr. Thacker, as tho Independent, holding with the Labour 'Mayor the balance of power.
