ON THE PLATFORM
New Zealand women seem to bo going very strong in the lecturing business just now. In America, Mrs. Marjorie Hannah, of Wellington, is busy telling the world about the beauties and virtues of our land. Bathie Stuart, well-known in Wanganui, is combining Maori costume with lecturettes on old Maori lore and customs for the benefit of California. Another who soon facos the lecture-loving world is Mrs. Jean Devanny. This lady, who was the author of a novel which caused some dir in its day, has been down in Christchurch, telling the good folk thereabouts just why book-censorship is so very wrong. Her next move is to the lecturer’s Mecca —America.
