St. Andrew's journeyed to Flock House, where a bright and open game was played, the victors establishing their lead in the dying hours of the game.

Athletic and Rangers met at North street park under the whistle of Mr. J. Crowe. The losers put up an improve:' showing, especially in the second spe when they not only successfully pi vented the blacks adding to their tot:, but also conducted dangerous raids inti their opponents’ territory. Athletic ‘drew first blood when Crowe found the net following patchy play around the [white goal. Rangers made several desiperate attempts to equalise, McLaren [and Altree being prominent in combined forward movements, while Hands | and French foiled several black attacks. Finally, the whites were rewardled with success when Carncll found the net, after exciting play. Athletic was lnot long ,however, in again assuming l the lead. A black forward movement .resulted in Watt sending in a stinging shot- which left the goalie standing, although he made a brave endeavour to save. This success was followed shortly after by a third goal from the toe of Watt. The score was a lucky one. The goalie went down to the shot which was a low one, but the ball hit his Lands and rose to travel into the net just under the bar.

That was the last score of the match, although both sides made several un successful attempts to alter the positio[during the second spell. The loathe gravelled up and down field, the vai tage alternating. Occasionally, tin play was ragged and at times there were flashes of real soccer. Prominent in the Athletic forward lino were Watt, Childs, Woodward and Lewis, while Hearsov and Crowe defended brilliantly. For the whites, Edyvean, Hands and French put up a staunch defence, Altree, McLaren, D. Smillie and Carnell being conspicuous in attack.
