MISSION STEAMER SOUTHERN CROSS
JURY “RUDDER” RIGGED,

AUCKLAND, Last Night,
The Mission steamer Southern Cross which was disabled at Norfolk Island with a broken rudder trunk, sailed at sunset on Friday evening for Auckland and is duo here next Tuesday. According to advice received in Auckland, a jury rudder has been rigged and the trip back to New Zealand will be made at the leisurely speed of seven knots. On arrival in Auckland, the Mission steamer will go into dock to have repairs effected.
