BASKETBALL
INTER-CLUB GAMES. On - Saturday last, the club spirit was well manifested by pupils of the Technical school, when the first tournament of the season was held on the new grounds in Grey street. Nine teams participated in the contest, displaying a good exhibition of the game, the Tainui team proving victorious. Following are the results:— First round: Tainui A 12 beat Arawa B, 0; Arawa A 2 beat Rangitano A, 1; Ngapuhi A 1 beat Tainui B, 0; Rangitane B 9 beat Ngapuhi B, 5. Semirfinals: Tainui A 5 beat Arawa A, 0; Ngapuhi A 4, beat Rangitane B, 2. Final: Tainui A 8 beat Ngapuhi A, 0. A friendly game between Rangitano B and Ramblers resulted in a win for Rangitane B—4.
