Misses Betty Nuthall and Elizabeth Ryan will play together in the women’s doubles at Wimbledon, states & London message. Mr J. D. Lynde made a presentation on behalf of the railway officers at headquarters to Mr. J. F. McGregor, accountant at the Bank of New South Wales, Palmerston North for tho past four years, has been appointed manager of the bank’s branch at Kawa Kawa, Bay of Islands. Mr McGregor will be succeeded by Mr W. A. S. Wearne, who has for the past few years bean attached to the Wellington branch. The death took place on Tuesday of Mrs. Clara Jane Quigley, relict of the late Mr. W. J. Quigley, of Gisborne, and a resident of Dannevirke for the past, seven years. Bom at Droxford. Hants, England, in 1858. tho deceased lady came out to New Zealand in 1878 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Coles.
