SUSPENSION BRIDGE TIPS HOLIDAY CROWD INTO STREAM BELOW
United Press Association—By Electrli Telegraph—Copyright. Received Sunday 7.0 p.m. LONDON, March 31. A most remarkable accident occurred at Cotherstone near Barnard Castle. The ropes of a suspension bridge over the Tees snapped when crowds were crossing from a football match and the bridge tipped up. Immediately twenty people were thrown into the river which fortunately was very shallow. Fifteen were injured by falling on a heap of stone in midstream. -
