EASTER SATURDAY MOTOR ACCIDENTS

THREE COLLISIONS NEAR PALMERSTON NORTH. Three motor collisions took place in or near Palmerston North on Easter Saturday but fortunately none of the persons involved suffered any serious injury. Collision on Rangitikei Line. At ten minutes after seven o’clock on Saturday evening, a collision occurred between a motor cycle and a motor car at a spot on Rangitikei line, about two and a half miles from tho Post Office. The motor cycle tvas ridden by Mr. E. O’Flaherty, of 40 Cuba street, Palmerston North, who had with him two passengers in a side car, while tho driver of tho motor car was Mr. Wilton Wilson, of Kauwhata. Both drivers and their passengers escaped unscathed, although some damage was done to tho two vehicles. Motor Cycle and Lorry. The second accident occurred shortly after noon on the same day when Mr. J. H. Perrin, of Richardson’s line, who was riding a* motor cycle and side chair collided with a motor lorry in charge of Mr. V. A. E. Barlow, of Pahiatua street. This accident took place at the junction of ..Ferguson and Ada streets, and although Mr. Perrin suffered a bruised thigh, had no other serious results. A Lucky Escape. The third collision of tho series was of a somewhat one-sided nature, inasmuch as it involved two such unequal craft as a transport lorry and a light The latter vehicle, which was driven by Mr. Max Anderson, of Herctaunga street, was turning out of Beresford street into Rangitikei street when it was struck from tlic rear by the lorry. Tjjfr, Anderson had with him in the car his wife and four children but despite the weight of the heavy vehicle with which the collision occurred, all of them escaped injury.
