27 VICTIMS OF MINE EXPLOSION
PENNSYLVANIA DISASTER. EARLY FEARS OF BIGGER DEATH ROLL GROUNDLESS. United Press Association—By Electri* Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, March 21. A message from Parnassus (Pennsylvania) states that more than 100 coal miners are not accounted for six hours after an explosion to-day in tho Kinlock mine of the Valley Camp Coal Company. One hundred and seventy men escaped. Two bodies have been recovered. Flames raged at tho entrance. Gas after-damp is reported in the pit. A later cable states that all but 27 are safe. Some are badly gassed. Twenty-one bodies have been found and six. for whom there is little hope, are missing.
