TO-DAY'S RECIPE
PICKLED ONIONS. Make a brine of salt and water. Peel onions and drop into brine. In the morning drain off the brine, put onions into pickle bottles, put vinegar on to boil with spices, cloves, allspice, and peppercorns, and about half a cup of sugar. Boil all well and when cold pour over onions and tie down.
