ANNUAL RAM FAIR AT ADDINGTON

Tho annual ram fair was held to-day at Addington showgrounds, when flock rams were offered. There was strong demand for English Leiccs.tcrs, which advanced three to four guineas on last year’s prices, when also the demand was notably stronger than in the previous year. Although the entry totalled over 1000 head, there was a sustained demand, rams selling freely at S guineas to 11 gns, the top price being 17gns. Borders also were in demand, 13S being offered and the bulk sold at 01 to 91 guineas. The top price was 11 guineas. The entry of Romneys numbered 9S, some of good quality. The top price was 171 guineas and a number sold at 11 guineas to 14 guineas. Last year, not a single Romney was sold at auction, so that the demand for this breed was noteworthy The entry of Downs was small, owing to a fair for those sheep being held in Jnnuarj-. Tho bulk of the Southdowns brought S to llgns. The top price be-, ing 15gns. Corricdalcs, of which the entry numbered 1475, sold slowly and passings were frequent, duo doubtless to the state of the wool market. Average rates were 4 to' Bgns and the top price 123gns. There was a slack demand also for lialfbrcds, 50 per cent, of the entry of 179 being passed. The top price was 12gns.
