SCHOOLGIRL KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR

ACCIDENT AT CENTRAL SCHOOL. A pupil of Central school, Mona I.angston, sustained a severe shaking and a broken rib through being knocked off her bicycle at 12.30 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Tho child swerved across in front of the car in order to enter the school gates, with the result that a collision became inevitable. Fortunately, the driver of tho car, Mr. C. E. Taylor, of Aroha street, was proceeding at a slow speed, otherwise the small cyclist’s injuries might have been more severe. iShe was taken into a nearby store and medical aid immediately summoned. The doctor’s examination revealed that although tho child’s injuries were painful, they were not dangerous, and she was removed to tho residence of her parents in Cook street.
