Mrs. H. McSherry, Pahiatua, is on a motor trip of the South Island. Mrs. H. Anderson, Wanganui, is visiting Mrs. S. T. Tinney, Pahiatua, Mrs. C. B. Davis, of Dannevirke, is the guest of her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Dolbell, Napier. • Miss E. Booth has returned to Cheltenham from a short visit to Woilingf.on. The sympathy of many friends will be extended to Mrs. E. Barling, of Grey street, in her illness. Last evening she was reported to bo progressing as woli as could be expected. Mrs. Kobert Mcßeth, Highfield Toad, Feilding, and her daughter, Mrs. E. E. Short, Kimbolton road, Feilding, returned home on Tuesday from a week’s visit to Plimmerton. Mr. and Mrs. John Young, of North street, Palmerston North, who have spent a most delightful holiday in Honolulu and California, have advised friends that they expect to return home in a month’s time. On Monday next Mrs. Bellamy, Feilding, will leave for Masterton, from whence sho will proceed on Tuesday to Wellington in company with her daughters for tho wedding of Miss Rosie Bellamy to Mr. Cyril WhiteParsons, which will take place in the city the following day. The Sydney Sun has discovered that we have in Australia the daughter of King George’s ofiicial bagpiper, Mr. Henry Forsyth, who on account of other duties he performs in the royal household accompanies the King everywhere, and will help him in his pursuit of health at Bognor. Mrs. Jean Greening, of Belmore (N.S.W.), is Mr. Forsyth’s daughter. She was one of the Queen’s dressers, but resigned to undertake war work in 1917. In 1919 sha ; married and came to Australia. Piper 1 Forsyth is expected to visit his daugh- _ ter this year. ‘

Mrs. Enis Christian and family are spending a holiday at Tangimoana. Mrs. David Paske is the guest of Mrs. Christian. Mrs. G. H. Gifkins, of Opunako, is at present on a visit to her brother, Mr. T. Jefferies, “Burford.” Mrs. Alfred Denham, of Kaponga, who has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jefferies is now visiting Eketahuna. The Misses A. Craine and M. Jefferies are also holidaying at Tangimoana, Miss N. and Miss K Green joined them on Wednesday for a few days and Miss K. Miles and Miss L. Marshall expect to be their guests from next Sunday for a short time.
