SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS AT EVENING SPORTS MEETING TO-MORROW

MISS BARRON AND FRANK GROSE. \ . To-morrow’s evening sports meeting under the auspices of tho Manawatu Amateur Athletic Club (postponed from Monday last owing to the death of Mr. H. W. Brown) has two welcome surprises in store for lovers of athletics. Frank Grose, New Zealand's finest hard track cyclist, will compete. He is fresh from his recent victories in Wellington and Pctone, and should give a brilliant performance. Grose will be extended to his utmost against such great performers as Murray Donald, Manawatu sub-centre champion, who is at the top of his form. His defeat of Grose in the 2-milo at Sanson on Saturday was an outstanding effort) George Cooksley is also out after Grose’s scalp, so that the two cycle races should be thrillers. Miss Margaret Barron, Wellington provincial champion, is the other attraction, and her appearance in the ladies’ 100 yards handicap will be eagerly looked to by all present. Owing to Greenwich time having displaced Sidey time once again, the meeting to-morrow will commence at 5.45 p.m.
