Only the previous morning ho had presented a similarly distressed appearance in the same position and had been chastened with a fine as tho official mark of disapproval for an over-indulg-ed thirst. Reminiscent of that illfated schooner Hesperus which so tho poet tells us “sailed the stormy sea,” was his second matinee appearance yesterday for according to Seregant .Joyce he had once again fared forth and drowned his sorrows in tho flowing bowl. Forbearing to over emphasise tho obvious, the sergeant pointed out that the prisoner was scarcely in a fit state to be discharged and left to the mercies of an unsympathetic world. He suggested that he be given until Friday morning to rocuperate in tho restful quiet of the watch house.
