ANOTHER LARGE ENTRY AT ADDINGTON

Prices Maintained RISE IN FAT SHEEP AND CATTLE Por Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At tho Addington market there was another exceptionally heavy entry of store sheep of over 35,000 head, substantial drafts of ewes coming from the North Island as well as the Chathams and Nelson. Good sized entries of fat cattle and fat sheep were also forward. Store sheep: Store lambs sold similarly to last woek meeting with a free demand. Ewes also sold at about last week’s values though passings of dealers’ lines were frequent towards the end of the sale. Medium to good rape lambs 22s to 245, ordinary mixed sex lambs 19s to 22d, inferior mixed sex lambs 14s 6d to 17s 6d, good ewe lambs 25s to 27s 3d, ordinary ewe lambs 22s to 24s 6d, inferior ewe lambs 16s to 19s 6d, medium wethers lambs 20s to 22s 6d, cull wether lambs 14s 6d to ISs; good 2 tooth threcquarter-bred ewes to 345, good 4, 6 and 8 tooth threequartor-bred ewes to 34s 3d, ordinary 2-tooth halfbred ewes 33s to 365, good 4, 6 and 8 tooth halfbred ewes to 35s'9d, ordinary 4, 6 and 8 tooth halfbred ewes 29s to 325, sound mouthed halfbred ewes 26s to 28s, poor conditioned 4, 6 and 8 tooth halfbred ewes 22s 6d to 255, aged and inferior, halfbred ewes to 16s, ordinary 2 tooth crossbred ewes to 33s 6d, good 4, 6 and 8 tooth crossbred ewes to 33s 6d, ordinary 4, 6 and 8 tooth crossbred ewes 26s to 28s 6d, ordinary. 2 tooth Romney cross ewes 32s to 33s 6d, ordinary 4, 6 and 8 tooth Romney cross ewes 29s to 31s, inferior 4, 6 and. 8 tooth Rqmney cross ewes 24s to 265, ordinary halfbred wethers to 245. Fat lambs: 2220 were penned and & free sale at schedulo prices. Extra prime lambs to 32s lOd, prime 28s 6d to 31s 6d, medium lambs 26s to 28s, light, 23s 6d to 25s Cd. . Fat sheep: An average penning or about 20 races and last woek’s values were maintained until tho final stages when an advance of Is 6d per head took place. Extra prime heavy wethers to 35s 10d, prime wethers 30s 6d to 33s 6d, medium wethers 27s 6d to 30s, light wethers 25s to 27s 3d, extra prime ewes to 34s Id, prime ewes 25s to 29s 6d, medium ewes 21s 6d to 245, light ewes 18s to 21s ,aged ewes 13s to 17s. Fat cattle: 480 head were yarded, good steers forming a small proportion. For these the market was better by 253 a head, other classes showing minor improvement. Best beef to 47s 6d per IflOlbs. good 42s to 455, medium quality 39s to 41s 6d, plain cow 35s to 37s and rough down to 325; extra prime heavy steers to £23 7s 6d, prime heavy steers £lB 10s to £2l, medium weight prime steers £l6 10s, to £18.55, medium quality steers £l3 to £l6, light steers £9 to £l2 10s, extra prime heifors £ls to £l7 17s 6d, prime heifers £l2 10s to £l4 10s, medium heifors £lO 10s to £l2 ss, light heifers £7 10s to £lO, extra prime cows. £ls to £l7 12s 6d, prime cows £ll 10s to £l3 15s, medium cows £9 10s to £ll, light cows £8 5s to £9 7s 6d, agedcows £0 17s 6d to £B.

Dairy cows: A small entry. Good springing cows to £l6, medium £9 10s to £ll, inferior £5 to £7 15s, good forward springing heifers to £l4, medium heifers £8 10s to £lllss, inferior £6 10s to £7 ss. Vealers: An excellent sale for most sorts; primo to £9 8s 6d, good vealertf £6 15s to £B, medium £4 to £6 10s, calves, 35s to £3 ss. Store cattle: A small 6ntry of mixed sorts; three year steers to £lO 7s 6d, cows £3 to £7, others to 30s, bulls £4 to 12s. Fat pigs: An average entry. Bueoners wero easier and porkers dearer, due to the near approach of the holiday. Choppers 50s to £5 12s, light baconers £3 to £3 7s 6d, heavy baconers £3 15s to £4, extra heavy baconers to £4 7tf 6d, average prico per lb. 51d to 6d.; porkers 42s to 50, heavier porker® 52s 6d to 58s 6d, average prico per lb. 7Jd to Bd. Store pigs. A small entry mostly; weaners and small stores. Prices receded on late rates. Weaners 5s to Bs, stores 9s to 17s, largo to 23s and extra to 203.
