TOWN CLERKS’ INSTITUTE CONFERS AT WANGANUI

SUPERANNUATION SCHEME. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Last Night. The annual meeting of the Towu Clerks ’ Institute of Now Zealand was held here to-day. Mr. F. M. Martin received on behalf of his father, Mr. F. F. Martin, for 30 years secretary and counsel of the Municipal association, a handsome clock as a token of esteem. The annual report said good progress had been made, the membership totalling 66. . A Nelson proposal to institute a superannuation scheme was discussed and it was decided to ask the government to provide for this. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. P. Skoglund (StratfoTd); vice-presidents, Messrs F. H. Denton (Greymouth), F. Hobbs (Lyttelton), G. A. Edmonds (Nelson), G. Murch (Wanganui), J. R. Hardie (Palmerston North), H. Wilson (NewmaTket). Auditor, Mr. A. J. Gearing (Lower Hutt); executive, Messrs J. F. Merries (Sumner), W. F. Steerman (Petone). A. Wilson (Otaki), B. G. Knox (Lower Hutt) and J. T. Boris (Shannon).
