“TIMES” WEATHER REPORT
Erratic Conditions
The pressure distribution is extremely complicated. The cyclono in the Tasman is apparently losing intensity, while the depression over Tasmania is becoming more vigorous. A rather deep depression has developed also near the Chatham Islands.
Winds will be variable at first south from Cook Strait, elsewhere moderate to strong northerlies and northerlies again becoming general shortly with freshening seas rather rough about Cook Strait but elsewhere smooth to moderate; moderato to strong northeast to northerly winds and moderate to rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman. The weather will bo cloudy, with mist or fog in places and scattered light rain, more especially in the South Island; moderate to warm temperatures with so complicated a pressure system that tho winds and the distribution of rainfall are likely to be very erratic.
