MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

The committee of the Fcildi.ug A and P. association met on Friday even ing. Mr. J. G. Eli-btt presiding.

It was decided to forward letters of thanks to the following judges, who Wrote stating that they were not claiming expenses incurred during the last show: —Miss J. Thomson, Mrs. S. M. Hobbs and Messrs C. E. Twist, A. Robottom, J. Bull, It. 1). Knight, J. Hodges and A. Kirkpatrick. The meeting decided to take no action regarding an invitation from the New Zealand Land Settlement and Development League to appoint delegates to attend a conference of the league in Wellington this month. The Manawatu-Ornuu branch o f the Now Zealand Pig Breeders’ association wrote regretting the lack of support accorded pig breeders at the show and promising a greater interest at futuro shows. —The letter was received with thanks. The New Zealand Meat Producers’" board wrote advising that the show I export stock had been shipped for England. I A competitor in the pony riding 'classes wrote complaining that several 'of the children who had received \ awards in this class were over the age stipulated in the catalogue.—The committee discussed the matter at length and it was decided to reply stating that it was certainly the duty of the steward in charge to intervene in these matters when competitors were obviouslv over tbe age stipulated, but in cases where it was not obvious it was the duty of interested parties to make a complaint beforehand. The grounds committee was asked to deal with an application from the New Zealand Polo association for the use ot stabling accommodation for the forthcoming polo tournament. In presenting the cup won for the most points in the Romney sheep classes at the last show to Mr. IL B. Johnston, of Cheltenham, the chairman offered the association’s heartiest eongratulations to this young breeder, who has won the cup outright. In returning thanks, Mr. Johnston intimated that he would have pleasure in replacing the cup. Mr W. Page reported that a firm had donated half a ton of fertiliser as a trophy for the next show. Votes of thanks were accorded the ladies who assisted in the home industries section and also the junior stewards in the other sections. Mr. G. E. Allen, of Mastcrton, wrote donating a cup an'd thanking the association "for the many courtesies extended to him at the last show. Donations totalling £154 4s Gd were received with thanks. Managh, Halcombe; Milligan, Mangatoretcre, Hastings (G.); J- H. McLean, Marton; R V. Stewart, Box 3. Apiti; H. J. Strathan, Apiti; W. Shierriffs, Awapnni. The resignations of Messrs H. R. Murray, W. J. Francis and J. E. W. Nairn were accepted with Tegret.
