IODIDE FOR STOCK
lodide is now regarded, and quite rightly so, more as a necessary food, aiid not just a tonic for stock. As dairy fanners often wonder how this invaluable food should be given, tho following is the method recommended by Mr W. Hawker, of Clare, South Australia, who is a member of the New Zealand Friesian Association, and a fully qualified medical man. For cows and bulls: Take 140 grains of “potassium iodide” and put in 20 ounces of distilled water. Dose: Two teaspoonfuls twice a week on the food; say on Monday and Thursday. For calves a week old: 96 grains of “potassium lodide” in 16 ounces of distilled water. Dose: One teaspoonful twice a week in the morning feed—Mondays and Thursdays in each week.
