An intense cyclone was located this morning off the south coast of Queensland and is likely to affect tho Dominion during the next few days.. The pressure is high between Tasmania and southern New Zealand. Expect freshening south-west to southerly winds, later backing to east and north-east north of New Plymouth and Castlepoint and to tho south-east elsewhere; moderate south-west to south-east winds and moderate seas in the southeast Tasman and freshening east to north-east winds and rising seas in the north-east portions. Tho weather will be cloudy and misty generally and becoming unsettled, with rain developing, more especially in the north at first but extending to other districts.. Widespread rain is likely during the next two days, with cool temperatures in tho South Island. (Standard Time). Sun (to-day). Rises, 5.39 a.m.; sets, 6.44 p.m. To-morrow. Rises, 5.41 a.m.; sets, 6.43 p.m. Moon (to-day). Rises, 9.48 p.m.; sets, 12.12 p.m. To-morrow. Rises, 10.20 p.m.; sets, 1.15 p.m.
