FIREMAN ACCUSED OF THEFT AT FIRES

ARRESTED ON HOLIDAY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. A member of tho Wellington Fire Brigade, James William Stewart, aged 25, who arrived with his wife to spend a holiday in Auckland, was charged at the Police Court with the theft of a gold and diamond ring and camera of a total value of £lO, the property of some person unknown, the police alleging that tho property had been stolen by the accused from fires he had attended. Accused was remanded on bail to Wellington.
