BOWLING. From'Our Own Correspondent. The draw for the semi-final of the Barr trophy competition is as follows: H Hamer and TV. S. Hcyes (s) (2) v E Parkin and M. H. Walker (s). W. H. Nicholas and F. Woods (s) (4) v M. E Perreau and J. M. Thomson (s). Jas. Ross and John Ross (s) (4) v A. P. Easton and D. Christie (s). Bye: R. Heppncr and S. Mattar (s). LICENSING COMMITTEE. Only one nomination was received to fill the five vacancies on the Manawatu Licensing committee, that of Mr. J. K. Hornblow. The Licensing Act provides that where an insufficient number of nominations is received, the GovernorGeneral may appoint such other members as are required. It appears most probable that the other members of the retiring committee will be approached in this connection. They are Messrs J. H. Pcrrett, J. E. Walker, R. Bryant and J. Curran.
