The second annual gala day in aid of tho Methodist church that was held in the Domain on Wednesday was very successful, the weather being ideal for such occasions.
The people in charge were the following:—Secretaries, Mr. C. Hall, Mr. H. Fagan. Handieappers and starters, Mr. Billinghurst and Mr. Saywell. Judges of decorated cars, Rev. and Mrs. Langston, Mangaweka. Ice-cream and jumble stall, Mesdames Lcn and Laurie Rose. Dinner, Mrs. G. Rose and Rangiwahia ladies, afternoon tea, Mrs. Hall and Ruahine ladies. Sheep-guess-ing, Mr. Len Rose. Looping the ring, Mr. Saywell. Sports results:—22o yards race, G. Truman Ist., M. Lockyer 2, A. Hodge 3; egg and spoon, Miss E. Deihl Ist., Miss D. Pratt 2; motor-cycle flag race, L. Martin Ist., P. Martin 2; men’s fancy costume parade, P. Martin Ist., W. Wilson 2; mile walk in fancy costume, P. Martin Ist., W. Wilson 2; married ladies’ cotton winding, Mrs. H. Thompson Ist., Mrs. Haycock 2; motorcar driving, D. Saywell Ist., A. Myers 2; motor-car potato race, Mrs. C. Smith Ist., Miss B. Martin 2; hop, step and jump, A. Hodge Ist, C. Hodgo 2; mile race, B. Saywell Ist., M. Lockyer 2, A Morris 3; looping the ring, B. Saywell Ist.
