SLIGHT RECOVERY OF WOOL MARKET
AUCKLAND SALE
Per Press Association.
AUCKLAND, Last Night. The second Auckland wool sale of tho reason was opened last night, when 12 000 bales of a record offering or 28 214 bales were sold. Values were a penny half-penny to two pence per pound lower than at the first sale m November, but strong buying by Continental agencies gave a slightly firmer tone than at the last New Zealand sale held in Wellington. Realisations were satisfactory to the large majority of growers. Continental firms wero active, with a fairly steady undertone from Bradford, but the United States was little in the market, there being an absence of finer wools demanded by American mills. There was remarkably heavy buying on behalf of France, Germany and Belgium. No range of prices will be issued by the brokers until tho conclusion of the sales.
