Pupils of the Palmerston North Technical school mustered in force at the Municipal baths yesterday afternoon, the occasion being the school’s annual swimming sports. Miss Nola- Milverton, at tile end. of the carnival,was announced the girls’ swimming champion -while C.. Siddells won the like honour on the boys’, side. The club championship went to. Taonui, whose members, boys and girls, scored 55 points, Ngapuhi was -runner up with 3)i points, then came Bangitano .13 points and Arawa, 8. Following are the results:— Girls’ 33 1-3 yards championship: Nola Milverton 1, Neta Hoskings 2, Iris Blundell" 3: Time, 24Sees. Boys’ 33 1-3 yards championship: Siddells 1, C. Thomas 2, L Carruthers and Hands, deadheat 3. Time, 24 8-ssccs.
Girls’ low dive: Nola Milverton 1, Phyllis Davison 2, Ruth McLeod 3. Boys’ low dive: White 1, Marshall 2, Webb 3. Girls’ 66 2-3 yards championship: Nola Milverton 1, Iris Blundell 2, Eileen Revere 3. Won by two yards each way. Time, 54secs. Girl beginners race,. 25 yards: Ngacro Blundell 1, Pearl Davison 2, Eunice Thacker 3.
