Mrs J. Currie and family, of Waverley are the guests of her parents Mr and Mrs W. H. Guning, Bryce street. Mr and Mrs W. H. Gunning and Miss Gunning, who have been enjoying a holiday at the Paekakariki beach, returned homo on Saturday. Mr Gunning’s friends will be pleased to heat that he is feeling much improved in health for his vacation.
Mr. J. Humphries of tho public Works department’s office at Mangaore, who has been transferred to Tangarakau, in the Taranaki district, left Shannon yesterday morning to take up his new position. Scholars attending the Shannon school will hold their annual excursion to Plimmerton to-morrow. A special train will leave Shannon at 8.20 a.m., arriving at Plimmerton at 10.35 and leaving at 4.25 p.m., reaching Shannonat C.B. The fares are reasonable, adults 4s Gd, senior scholars who left school before November 30th 3s, school children free, children under 5 years and over three Is.
