PLUMBERS AND MINERS BENEFIT FROM WINTER
GREAT INCREASE IN ORDERS,
LONDON, Fob. IS. Besides the plumbers, the miners arc also beneliiting from the weather. The output quota in live counties under agreement has increased by from ten per cent, to one-third, enabling thousands of .unemployed to resume work. The Continent and southern counties axo insistently demanding domestic coal and prices are steadily appreciating. This revival is not merely a flash in the pan. Most collieries arc assured of plentiful orders until April and are expecting brisk business 'to Luropc after the freeing of the ice-bound ports. The prosperity, however, docs not extend to Wales', where the dislocation of traffic and tipping arrangements due to the weather, has cheeked the progress noted early in the year.
