Simpson, Price, McLean, Chappell (s) beat AVanden, Bottle, Rudkin, A. Pickering (s) 25 —17. Aitken, Hicks, Oakley, Entwistlc (s) beat Howley, Usniar, C. Pickering, Tapp (s) 19 —18. ' Jensen, Jarrett, Spence, Mason (s) beat A. AVilson, Eglinton, Giorgi, G. Wilson (s) 16—14. Total: Oroua 73, Palmerston North 74. In his effort to beat Tasker, Brewer was able to score only on six of the 21 heads. Chappell’s victory over A. Pickering was a fairly easy one, although tho Palmerston North rink recovered. well towards the end. Tapp and Entwistlo played an exceedingly close match. By taking the Bth head five up, Tapp drew level with his opponent and by winning the 14th four up, drew ahead and held that position until the 19th head when the situation was again reversed by Entwistle taking tho 19th head with a four. Mason’s rink led in the match against AVilson all tho way through but never by a greater margin than three points. HODDER VETERAN VASE., In a contest for the Veteran Va3o the challengers, Aitken, A.
