From Our Own Correspondent. Bowling Club. A special general meeting of the Foxton Bowling Club was held in the pavilion on Thursday night, Mr. AV. S. Heyes, president, occupying the chair. Also present were: Messrs J. Newth, J. M. Thomson, D. Christie, F. A. Stevenson, AV. Howe, A. P. Easton, F. Robinson, D. Clements, H. Hamer, Rev. AV. H. AValton, and the secretary, Mr. R. S. Warwick.
The meeting was convened to consider ways and means of raising funds to wipo off various outstanding liabilities. It was decided to hold a bazaar some time in March, subject to the ladies co-operating in the effort. A further meeting will be held to-morrow night in All Saints’ schoolroom, when all bowlers, tlieir wives, croquet players and friends, will be asked to attend to go fully into the proposal. In order to conserve the funds at present in hand, it was agreed to dispenso with the caretaker’s services. Nye Ferns.
