OPEN COMPETITION FOR 10,000 DOLLARS PRIZES.

In the open golf tourney, in which prizes totalling 10,000 dollars will bo distributed, Armour was first in the preliminary IS holts with 68 and Kirkwood and Hagen tied for 26th place, with 77. Kirkwood Fails to Qualify Received Monday, 1.0 a.m. LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13. Armour was first over the qualifying 30 holes with the score of 135. Hagen was 20th with 151. Kirkwood failed to qualify.
