From Our Own Correspondent. Personal. Mr and Mrs J. McEwan, of Collingwood City Mission, Melbourne, are on a month’s holiday trip in the North Island and are at present staying with Mr F. Shearman, Woodville. Miss N. Wardrop returned to Wellington on Tuesday. Mr A. B. MeCorkindalc, of Fcilding, has joined the local staff of the Bank of New Zealand. Mr and Mrs G. B. D’Ath, have returned from their motor trip to Auckland. Mr and Mrs W. C. Arrow and family leave to-day for Plimmcrton where they will spend a three weeks’ holiday. Mrs K. Johnson and family leave for Otaki beach to-day. Commandant and Mrs Campion left for Auckland on Tuesday. Mr E. Smart, stationmaster, at present on leave, has gone to Napier, accompanied by his family. Great sympathy will be felt with Mr and Mrs P. Harris of Woodville, in the death of their eldest child, Albert Alexander, aged 8 years, on Saturday morning. Ho had recently had a bad attack of whooping cough on top of influenza, from which he did not recover. At about G a.m. his mother noticed that all was not well but before help could be summoned, ho passed away. Mr Harris was away on his rounds at the time. Tko funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, the Itev. P. Gardiner conducting the service.
