GIRL WHO RESCUED BATHER AT BLUFF

DID NOT WAIT FOR THANKS. NOW REVEALED AS HIGH SCHOOL GIRL. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. While bathing at Bluff on New Year’s Day, Isobel von Tunzelmann, a resident of Invercargill, got into difficulties but was saved from drowning by the prompt and plucky action of a young girl, who disappeared afterwards without disclosing her name. Miss von Tunzelmann has been unable to express her gratitude to her heroic rescuer as a result. * It is learned to-day, however, that the girl who rescued Miss von Tunzelmann is Daphne Scheib, a high schooi girl living at Cromwell and visiting Invercargill on holiday. It is considered that Miss Scheib’j splendid performance is deserving of recognition by tho Royal Humane Society.
