JEWELLER’S STOCK RIFLED IN DUNEDIN

£3OO WORTH TAKEN. ADJOINING PREMISES ARE ALSO VISITED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night. A daring burglary was committed on Tuesday night in tho premises of E. J. Townsend, jeweller of George street, resulting in the loss of £3OO worth of stock, including the entire stock of rings and watches, besides gold chains, silver cigarette cases and fountain pens. An unsuccessful search was made for the keys of the safe, which contained about £lO in cash. Entrance was gained by breaking the back door off ns hinges and sawing through the lower panels of a side door, connecting the shop with a passageway. The adjoining shop of F. Lawson, bookesller and tho tailor’s workroom occupied by R. G. Tyrrcl were also entered, but nothing was taken.
