The Government of India has offered a handsome reward for the detention cf Prince Sirdar Muhammad Omar Khan, a member of the branch of the Royal family who are rivals to King -Vmanullah. The prince escaped from parole at Allahabad in disguise, and it is reported that he has crossed the north-west frontier and is making a bid for the Afghan throne. Omar Khan is one cf the six sons of the late Sirdar Muhammad Khan, who was taken to Allahabad at the close of the second Afghan war and not allowed to leave. Omar Khan said that he was strongly pro-British and believed in using the tribal revolt in an effort to resiore his own dynasty to the Throne. A message from Kabul states that the King has rewarded the troops with two months’ pay for repulsing the rebels.
