CAR STRIKES POWER POLE
DRIVER’S LUCKY ESCAPE. A Wanganui motorist wa3 fortunate in not being seriously injured when the car which he was driving along Rangitikei line on Saturday evening, skidded and dashed into an electric power pole on tho corner of the BunnythorpcKairanga road. Tho accident is reported to be the result of a too sudden application of brakes on a wet road surface. The impact brought down three high tension lines and interfered with the circuits, the Manawatu-Oroua Power board staff being given two hours’ work to malic temporary repairs.
