The world was using 32,500,000 telephones at the end of 1928—an increase of 1,500,000 since 1927. North America leads with 20,000,000, and Europe is second with 8,500,000. Tho number of telephones per hundred inhabitants Is as follows in the countries named: United States IS Canada 12.7 New Zealand 9.9 Australia 7.4 Germany 7 -4 Great Britain 3.6 France and Argentina .. 2.1
