The juice of an onion with sugar-is a sure cure for sore throat or cold. A good tip for ironing a tablecloth is to place the cloth under the ironing beet when commencing to iron; by ' >1 time the other ironing is completed it will be found that the tablecloth is practically finished and requires only very little ironing around the edges. If tomatoes, when sliced for frying, are sprinkled slightly with vinegar they will keep whole in the pan. When brick paths get green and dangerously slippery in wet weather, sprinkle two or three handfuls of salt over them. Allow to remain on an hour, then scrub down with brush or stiff broom.
To cure sore feet, soak in hot water, jtlien bathe with hot vinegar for about ,10 minutes and massage dry. , To mend small holes in plastering, use one part plaster of paris and three iparts fine sand. Mix with cold water and apply with a cas/-knife. Instead of the usual bulls-eyc patch on a boy’s trousers, put tho patch'the full length; it will then look like a seam in the material.
To destroy flies, mix well together half teaspoon pepper, half teaspoon sugar, and ono teaspoon cream, put on a plate and place where they arc very bad.
