CROQUET
The first / match of the season for the Pollock stars was played on the Northern Club’s green yesterday when the challengers, Mesdames Jamieson and Honore (Terrace End) wrested the trophy from the holders, Mesdames J. Young and Mayes, 26 —22. It was a scratch match. .
A challenge for .the Bennett buttons by Mesdames Scroggs (4J bis) and Davidson (8), of Terrace End Club, was not sustained, the holders,. Miss MoFarlane (5) and-Mrs Simpson (7), of the ’Manawatu Club, winning by 26—12. The match was played on Monday on the Manawatu green.
