MAN WITH GRUDGE AGAINST THE POLICE
BUILDER GETS A MONTH. "I ■■INI. g, Por Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, Last Night. James Humphreys, a builder, who, a week ago, assaulted a constable at thl Police Station, where he had gone t« complain that women and girls were following him about, appeared in the Court morning on remand charged with assault. Accused had been under medical observation.
This morning, in Court, he refused to plead and maintained a stony silence throughout the hearing. He was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. In 1924 Humphreys went to the Napier Police Station and threatened to “clean up” the station. Ho was then fined £3.
