RHODES SCHOLARSHIP
ONE NOMINATION FROM - CANTERBURY COLLEGE.

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The Professorial Board of Canter*. bury College. to-night decided tp nominate for selection as a Rhodes, scholar, Mr. Philip Leonard Matthew Soljnk. Mr. Soljak, who is 21 years old attended' the Tauranga District High School and Marist Brothers School at Auck-"' land. In 1921 ho entered tho Sacred Heart College, Auckland with a scholarship. He was dux of tho school in 1924 and 1925, in the latter year winning a junior university scholarship and entering Canterbury College in 1926. He was awarded the Robert Bell scholarship in journalism at the College. Ho was :a member of tho dramatic society and gained second place in the diatotic society’s competitions in 1926 played in a second grade football team in 1926 and 1927 and was runner-ug in tho College'. swimming championship.
