From Our Own Correspondent. < A perfect moonlight evening enticed a fair number to attend the euchre party and dance held at the schoolroom on Tuesday evening, which was a most enjoyable, function. The spacious card room with its bright log fire proved eminently suitable for the occasion, while tho floor designed fof dancing was all that could bo desired. Delightful music was supplied by a trio of instrumentalists, tho committee being indebted to Mrs E. Mauagh and Messrs X). Wishnowsky and M. G.‘ Peterson for the music. Mr L. Anderson very ably filled the position of M,C. a£jer an enjoyable supper was dispensed, tho euchre prizes were presented by Mr. G. J, Caiman, who briefly thanked all for their kindly hclp : and assistance, and said tho ladies’ working bee would benefit to the extent of some £4 which would go a long way towards making the coming bazaar a success. Mrs G. Hcappey. was the winner of the ladies’ prize, a handsome salad bowl donated by Mrs McDonald. The men’s prize was a bag of coal donated by Mr L. Davies'and was. won by Mr. A. Sterne who very kindly returned it to tho committee for tho produce stall. The ladies desire to tender thanks to . the donors of prizes. Consolation prizes were annexed by Mr and Mrs W. Davies, i ‘ Cribbage. The local cribbage team journeyed to Klmbolton on Monday evening, where they spent.a most enjoyable time; At the conclusion of the game Kimbolton had won 38~to Halcombo’s 22. Mr. C. 'Pussell on behalf pf the winning team thanked the.visitors for a very pleasant evening to which Mr. L. Siegel; responded. A sumptuous supper was done full justice to, the happy party dispersing with the singing of “For they,are jolly good fellows.” . Personal.
