THREE CANDIDATES FOR CHALMERS’ SEAT
"SAFE FOB REFORM.” Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 24. With Mr. J. M. C. Dickson’s retirenient three candidates will probably contest the Chalmers soat, namely, Messrs A; E. Ansell (Reform), J. Loudon (United) and N. l H. Campbell (Labour). A message from Wellington says that the statement that Mr. J- McC. Dickson, a Reform supporter, will not again contest the Chalmers seat is premature, although the indications point in that direction. Chalmers is, regarded as safe for Reform, and Mr. Ansell, the suggested Reform candidate in the event of Mr. Dickson’s retirement, is popular and a live wire in business and local affairs.
