An important bankruptcy case was before Mr. Justice Blaifun.thASuprcme Court to-day. , ■ -'A "v'. George Cornfoot, who till ; recently was part owner of a largo run ,im the Hawke’s Bay applied for,a discharge from bankruptcy . His liabilities, were £28,093 and his assets small.') A; • Assignee. J. H. Robertson ; opposed the discharge. He skid he had just received a telegram from .Mr. Goulter. sheep farmer, Blenheim, a creditor for over £BOOO, that Goulter had peeeived no notification in this connection.
His Honour asked bankrupt’s counsel what was the reason for hurry. Cornfoot was adjudicated bankrupt only six weeks ago. Counsel said there were private reasons for the haste. His Honour adjourned the application till the August sessions.-.
