OLYMPIC TEAM TO TALK TO AUSTRALIA BY SHORT-WAVE RADIO
Arrangements have now been completed through the intermediary of Philips Lamps (N.Z.) Ltd., and through their Short-wave experimental Station PCJJ situated at Hilversum, so that members of the Australian and New Zealand Teams may talk to Australia and N,cw Zealand by radio. It is suggested that local Broadcasting Stations receive tho short-wavo transmissions direct and rebroadcast it on their normal wave lengths. It has now heen definitely decided that members of the Team will talk for one hour on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 25t:h. 1928. As has been stated in the Press before, a regular transmission for Australia is out on the air from the Continent from Philips Kadio every Saturday afternoon between the hours of 2 and 5 p.m. and it has been found that reception varies according to atmospherical and seasonable conditions. The wave-length of PCJJ for those who do not know is 31.4 metres. All ropo.ts as to reception should be addressed to Technical Department, of Philips Radio, Hope Gibbons Buildings, Wellington.'
