CHILBLAINS ARE IN
Bad circulation, is tlie cause of chilblains, and this is duo to poor blood. A tonic will help the latter and lots of brisk walks will improve the former. An iron tonic should bo taken regularly throughout the winter, with regular doses for six weeks, then lett off for three, and so on. A warm bath followed by a brisk rub down with a rough towel every day is another aid to prevention of "chillies." Another good plan for those, who fear these painful attacks, is to soak the feet in very hot water, as hot as can be borne, keeping the temperature even by adding boiling water from the kettle beside you. Put a tablcspoouful of mus-tard-or a handful of common salt in the water. Dry well and paint the parts affected with iodine. Do this twice a day, but do not put on any more iodine until the first application has faded out. And then—here's where women fail—wear thick woollen stockings and stout solid shoes!
